MUSCAT (WAF): Omani airspace is seeing over 500 aircraft on a daily bases, the Public Authority for Civil Aviation (PACA) said today.

PACA said in a post to its Twitter account that the average for 2019 was 1,600 per day. And due to the Coronavirus impact on the aviation sector worldwide, the number has dropped to 180 flights per day.

Earlier this month Oman lifted the ban on travelling imposed on its nationals, provided full compliance with health measures locally and at the destination.

Over the last couple of weeks, both carriers Oman Air and Salam Air announced special operating flights to more than 30 destinations.

Domestically, flights between Muscat and Musandam never stopped, and last month flights between Muscat and airports in the oil fields were resumed.
