“Oman Oil” gives up its trademark to take on OQ’s

MUSCAT (WAF)- Oman Oil Marketing Company (OOMCO) brand of Oman Oil will be changed to reflect OQ brand.

OOMCO said in a filing to Muscat Securities Market (MSM) that the decision was approved by the Company’s Board of Directors yesterday.

“The strategic partnership agreement shall support OOMCO to scale-up its operations much faster than the current organic approach,” the company said in the disclosure.

OQ and OOMCO will explore business opportunities locally and internationally as well as rebranding OOMCO business network.

According to Muscat Clearing and Depository Company, OQ owns 46% of Oman Oil Marketing Company SAOG. And it is one of two main investments by OQ in the retail and commercial fuel distribution network, along with Hass, which operates in East Africa.
