MUSCAT (WAF)- Oman’s Ministry of Finance has transferred its shares in Oman Chromite Company (SAOG) to the State General Reserve Fund, the company disclosed today.
According to today’s data by Muscat Clearing and Depository Company, the Ministry owns 450,000 shares, equivalent to 15 percent, as the second biggest shareholder.
The move comes as a follow-up to the measures initiated by the Sultanate’s government to transfer its assets in companies from the Ministry of Finance to the sovereign wealth funds (SGRF & OIF) and other sectoral groups of companies to improve the management of these assets, and a step closer to privatise number of them according to previous official announcements.
