ACWA Power develops over 50% of Oman electricity sector-official

Muscat (WAF): Saudi developer ACWA Power owns over 50 per cent in market share as a developer in Oman’s electricity sector, Ahmed al-Subhi ACWA Power Country Managing Director, told WAF exclusively.

Al-Subhi said that out of the total electricity projects developed in Oman by the private sector, ACWA Power has the lion’s share. “In each of the five companies we invest in, our share does not exceed 40 to 45 per cent”, Al-Subhi added.

Saudi ACWA Power, Japan-based Mitsui & Co., and Omani Dhofar International Development & Investment Holding Company SAOG (DIDIC) are the promoters for the current Initial Public Offering (IPO) of 40% of Dhofar Generating Company shares.

DGC’s IPO commenced on 1st of July, and will close by 30th of July 2018. The company is offering 88,896,000 Offer Shares at a price of Bzs 259 per Offer Share (Comprising a Nominal Value of Bzs 100, premium of Bzs 157 and Offer Expenses of Bzs 2 per Offer Share).
