Muscat (WAF)- Oman’s Capital Market Authority (CMA) sent a letter to the Chairpersons of National Bank of Oman (NBO) and Bank Dhofar stating that the potential merger between the two banks should be completed by February 2019, if the two banks decide to go ahead with the process.
“We hope you shall continue with the full and timely disclosure on the Muscat Securities Market website on the latest development in the merger and the developing phases of this process such as the terms of the management’s agreements to be signed between NBO and Bank Dhofar in order to protect the interest of the stakeholders of the two banks. We also, kindly request you to assure that this process is to be completed in a period not exceeding six months from this date”, the letter signed on 8th of August by Abdullah al-Salmi Executive President of CMA said.
