Oman Cement to set-up a $212mn plant in Duqm

Muscat (WAF): Oman Cement Company has announced the approval of the Board of Directors to establish an integrated plant in Duqm with capacity of 5000 tons of clinker per day.

The company said through the Muscat Securities Market this morning that the construction cost of the project is estimated at US $212 million (equivalent to about 81.5 million Omani Rials)

Oman’s government holds a majority stake in Oman Cement Co through the Omani sovereign investment fund, which holds about 53.7% of the company’s shares listed on the Muscat Securities Market, as well as minority shares owned by government funds and agencies, equivalent to approximately 24.3%.
