Muscat (WAF): The US Secretary of State Michael Pompeo will visit the Middle East in a 7-days tour which will include 8 Arab countries including Oman.
“In Muscat, the Secretary will meet with Omani leaders to discuss ways to promote peace throughout the region, including in Yemen, and build upon the strong U.S.-Oman partnership”, a statement by the US Department of State said yesterday.
Pompeo’s regional tour will commence in Jordan on the 8th of January, and will conclude in Kuwait on the 15th. And his meeting with Oman’s leaders will focus on supporting “a united GCC”.
Oman has been supporting the Kuwaiti-led peace initiative to end the current rift –started over a year and a half ago- between KSA, UAE and Bahrain on one side, and Qatar on the other side.
