MUSCAT (WAF): The theme of “Africa Day” for this year is investment opportunities in Africa, and aims to show a picture beyond corruption and political challenges. Ben Emenyeonu, Chairman of the organising committee shared more with WAF News in this interview.
“Politics is something that divides Africa most of the time”, Emenyeonu said, while focusing on a another mandate to promote Africa after announcing the biggest free trade zone in the world with a population of 1.2 billion.
For the last 14 years, Africa day has promoted youth, women, and famous African personalities. And last year, the theme was tourism in Africa.
Emenyeonu said that -as a committee- “we do understand that there are so many hitches that can discourage people from going to (Africa) … to invest”. And he talks about what Africans in Oman try to do:
