Oman’s largest FDI come from the UK

MUSCAT (WAF): The United Kingdom’s direct investments in Oman accounts for 46.9% of the Sultanate’s total Foreign Direct Investments (FDIs) until the end of the third quarter of 2019, the data issued by the National Center for Statistics and Information (NCSI) shows.

Out of the total FDIs in Oman amounting to RO 11,039 billion, investments by the United Arab Emirates account for 10.2%, Kuwait brings 7.6%, the United States of America brings 7.5 % of the direct investments, and China ranked fifth with 4.3% of the FDIs in Oman.

The most prominent sectors that attract FDIs are the oil and gas sector with more than 6 billion Omani Rials, followed by the manufacturing sector with about 1.6 billion Omani Rials, and the financial intermediation sector with 1.4 billion Omani Rials.
