MUSCAT (WAF)- Sultan Haitham bin Tariq issued a decree granting Oman Future Communications Company (Vodafone Oman) a Class-1 licence to provide basic mobile public telecommunications services in the Sultanate.
Vodafone Oman is the third mobile operator in Oman. The company was established in 2019 through a commercial alliance led by the Itqan Technical Development Company, a subsidiary of the state-owned Oman 70 Holding, and includes several pension and investment funds from the government and private sectors. The UK-based telecom company, Vodafone, is the strategic and technical partner.
Oman Future Communications Company is the eighth company to obtain a Class-1 licence in the Sultanate, and the third Class-1 mobile operator, after Omantel and Ooredoo.
