MUSCAT (WAF)- The Commercial Bank of Qatar withdrew its offer to acquire an additional 15.2% stake in the National Bank of Oman (NBO), the Omani bank said in a disclosure.
The Qatari bank lost interest after “the offer of acquisition has been accepted by certain sharholders of NBO, representing 7.74% of the shares,” i.e. less than the desired percentage from the Commercial Bank, NBO stated in a filing to Muscat Stock Exchange (MSX) today.
Accordingly, the Commercial Bank decided to use the option to withdraw the submitted offer and to continue as an owner of a 34.9% stake in NBO.
